Abstract

Preparing families to support their youth in the transition to adulthood is a journey that all families must navigate. In working with Maine Parent Federation, the project goal was to incorporate feedback from families and youth requesting training and resources to support a better understanding in how to make thoughtful healthy living decisions in the areas of Sexual Development, Healthy Relationships, and supporting Healthy Eating. Through the collection of various resources, research and the use of Supported Decision-Making framework and 5- point Thoughtful Decision-Making process, we created a training for youth and families that supports transitioning youth in understanding Healthy Living Decisions.
