Abstract

ScrapBot is a design that improves the safety in a manufacturing workplace. It is built to be approximately 14”x14”x13” in size and picks up metal scraps ranging from needle size to four inches. The robot's design will include a spinner to pick up the fragments and the program will allow the robot to autonomously move in a predetermined area set by the user. The bot reduces the risk of injury and will not necessitate a person to pick up metal with their bare hands. It will be a small entertaining and innovative way to clean up scrap without having to worry about minor catches that could lead to major accidents. It is aimed at an adult audience, but it is suitable and safe for people of all ages.
