Abstract

This project uses a Garmin LiDAR Lite v4 LED sensor paired with an Arduino Uno to make 3D models of rooms. This system was designed with the intention for it to one day be used on a drone so that it can go into hard-to-reach areas and get a general view of the area, whether it's a room full of toxic gas or a cave with an entrance too small for humans to fit through. The system is much cheaper than other 3D scanners on the market and lightweight enough to fit on a drone.
