Abstract

This project is focused on computational fluid dynamics (CFD) using the open sourced software OpenFOAM. In partnership with DEKA research, a numerical model of capillary flow implementing a dynamic contact angle is 3d constructed and run within ParaFoam. A turbulence model is used assuming incompressible fluid. Multiple different models for dynamic contact angle depending on characteristic length, capillary number, as well as flow speed are combined to form an accurate depiction. Final results used by DEKA cannot be shown, but instead the method used to gain these results are presented in an arbitrary case to show case dynamic model.
