Abstract

Chromatography is a downstream purification process, which is used to purify drugs and biological products by separating components based on physical or chemical properties; it is essential for achieving high purity and quality product. A resin Slurry Concentration (RSC) Test measures the concentration of resin in a slurry before column packing; this ensures the correct amount of resin is used for optimal performance. We used the resin slurry concentration test to test various types of resin to see which method would be better. We also made multiple improvements in the design of some of the instruments utilized. Results indicated that overall, the best method for testing was the centrifuge and gravity settling.
