Abstract

This project aimed to explore the process of scale-model prototyping, with a focus on sustainability. To accomplish this, PLA (Polylactic Acid) was used in the printing process. PLA is one of the few filaments that biodegrade. Along with that, NiMH rechargeable batteries were the power source for the servo array, limiting battery waste. The project was successfully created using these sustainable tactics, and proved that sustainability is not a handicap. These tactics can be applied to full-scale manufacturing, saving on costs and materials.
