Abstract
This project evaluates the current data collection model within a New Hampshire juvenile diversion program, aiming to improve data accessibility and enhance future research opportunities. While juvenile diversion programs play a critical role in addressing youth involvement in the justice system, limitations of current data systems can hinder program analysis both within the program and at a state level. Common barriers present in participant records include missing information such as demographic data, as well as inconsistencies in entry. These gaps in data collection can create challenges with longitudinal tracking, sharing across agencies, and overall data reliability. To address these issues, this project involves a systematic review of existing records to identify common barriers. Based on these findings, a data management system was developed to improve data organization and standardization. By addressing gaps in the current data model, this project contributes to the development of a more reliable and accessible data management. Additionally, improvement of this programs data system creates a stronger foundation for statewide research on juvenile diversion programs.
