Tasked with designing a way to safely deploy a tracker onto a whale, we teamed up with the SWaT team and Manta Ray to achieve that goal. Through extensive research, we decided that a UAV would be the safest way to do so. Our research is comprised of designing dropping mechanisms as well as analyzing numerical results obtained from drop testing of heights around 10ft.
