Abstract
We set out to convert an older bicycle and a found-free pair of skis into a usable ski bike. Ski bikes are a new winter sport along with skiing and snowboarding. We decided to look into this new sport and discovered just how expensive the barrier to entry is. Some of these contraptions cost upward of $5,000 which, for most, is unattainable for a new and evolving sport where there are much cheaper alternatives. After pivoting from leaf spring research, we set out to create one for (close to) free.
