The Electric Vehicle Organization here at UNH deconstructed an internal combustion engine moped in order to convert it to electric. This required a new swingarm and drivetrain as well creating a new wiring harness as well as connecting the electrical components to the battery. The beginning of the project consisted of the deconstruction of the original moped and deciding what else would remain or leave the electric design. From there multiple parts would need to be designed in Solid Works in order to be machined. At the same time the wiring harness would be created and placed within the seat of the original moped to save as much space as possible.
