Articulating Figure

Abstract
To explore the movement of the human body, an articulating figure is used to demonstrate the movements of limbs with simpler shapes and mechanics. To show the versatility, a leg was drafted and modelled in SolidWorks and 3D printed, assembled and held together with an elastic inside to allow for bending at the knee and ankle along with the ability to swivel on the elastic. The model doesn't fully resemble the movements of a typical, organic leg, but it allows for the range of movement that an organic leg would have. The figure has the potential to open up new opportunities in robotics and prosthetics, and bring new models of reference to art and animation.
