Abstract

The Marine Energy Colligate Competition (MECC) has been held by the US Department of Energy since 2019 to challenge college students to use marine energy to find solutions to problems, from energy needs to fresh water access for remote communities. The main goals for this reverse osmosis (RO) device are to be easily deployable offshore, provide potable water for small island or coastal communities, and perform reliably and require simple maintenance.
