Abstract
Approximate computing (AC) emerges as a promising approach for energy-accuracy trade-off in compute-intensive applications. However, there is lack of in-depth research on the security threats imposed by employing AC in computing systems. Few of the recent works gave a visionary idea about the possible threats in approximate storage systems. Although, concrete attack models and counter-measures are never been provided. In our work, we propose attack model, concrete examples and also we propose a attack detection mechanisms called Input Integrity Check (IIC) and exclusive logic based attack detection(ELA).
