The Airborne Wind Turbine is designed to take advantage of the increased wind velocities present at higher altitudes to provide a more efficient output in a portable form. The system was designed to use a propellor attached to the DC motor and voltage regulatory circuitry to create an output for portable electronic devices. The voltage regulator circuit is housed in a basket held aloft by weather balloons and tethered to the ground. Our system provides a lightweight, portable means to charge electronic devices.
