Abstract

Pratt & Whitney is an aircraft engine manufacturer. The ability to analyze machine processing data is critical to prevent potential quality issues, improve productivity and observe trends. The goal of this project is to create an interface that will collect data for KPIs (Key Process Inputs) that are currently not being captured, so that data can be linked to KPOs (Key Process Outputs) in post processing. Caron Engineering MiConnect software is used to build routines that the operator is required to follow before a part is manufactured. These routines prompt the operator to scan various barcodes that correspond to each KPI. The data is then transferred to the CNC machine's controller and written to a text file to be used in post processing.
