Abstract
Desert mice are well adapted for the harsh, arid desert environment. Our project sponsors research group has been working to better understand the metabolism of such mice under simulated desert conditions. Their team already has systems in place to measure the atmospheric pressure, temperature, CO2, and humidity of the testing environment. Our main objective was to design a system to weigh the mice without too much human contact. After designing and assembling the system had to be tested to ensure the measurements would be as reliable as possible.
