Abstract
WALLE, Web-based Augmented Laboratory Learning Experiences, provides students with the ability to view audio, text, or other forms of media synchronized with a lab video. Current lab settings present four major difficulties:
-viewing high speed material responses
-fitting a large quantity of students in a laboratory
-getting close to an experiment safely
-easily repeating or changing experiment parameters.
WALLE resolves these issues by providing a web application for students to view synchronous and simultaneous playback of an experiment and data collected from it. WALLE can also be used to assist in training TAs more efficiently in terms of time, money, and resources. With WALLE, instructors are able to login and upload a lab video and insert supplemental information such as descriptions, comments, and labels to further articulate aspects of the experiment for their students. Students are then able to access a link to WALLE and view labs uploaded by their instructor.
