Abstract

The UNH Study Abroad Office is a Global education center; helping students travel and explore exciting events and opportunities all around the world. However, the process of looking up classes to study abroad has proven to be a more strenuous task. Students must coordinate their efforts through faculty within the Study Abroad Office through a paper-driven process. This project aims to provide a web application that makes the study abroad course planning phase academically focused through its search criteria feature and database structure. The current study abroad registration process is lacking efficiency, and the data is accessible only in spreadsheets format. Using the Drupal framework, an open-source web content management system, we were able to set up, create and host the web application on the UNH server for the users to view and access. The web application links to the database, a customized placeholder within Drupal. Appropriate modules within Drupal were installed to incorporate additional features. This website will benefit the Study abroad office and UNH students. It will help students to easily navigate the course catalog through its academically focused search criteria and helps faculty to efficiently update the database.
