The UNH handcycle project is designed for people with physical disabilities that still want to enjoy the sport of cycling. By adding motor assistance to a custom-made handcycle, a rider can reach speeds up to 25 miles per hour on flat terrain by pedaling the hand cranks. This accessible handcycle improves quality of life for many by bringing fun back into cycling.
