The Intent of this project was to design, develop and implement an electronically sensed and controlled small scale hydroponics system cable maintaining optimal condition for its plant inhabitants. The finished system should monitor and control water pH, nutrient concentration, lighting, and main pump activity, as well as monitor reservoir water levels and temperature. Additionally, the system must report back subsystem statuses and display any important operational information to a liquid crystal display. Hydroponics was chosen as the topic for this project due to the important role that it can play in reducing the impact of societal needs on the environment. Ultimately, the system was fully realized and found to be in working order, having a consistent draw of 0.3 Amps and a monthly power consumption of 25.92 KWh.
