Title:

Extraterrestrial Mining Robot (Electrical Subsystem)

Video

Abstract

NASA plays a monumental role in cultivating and teaching the engineers of tomorrow. Through their many competitions and events they seek to inspire individuals to think bigger and design better. For our Senior project, we are participating in NASA’s Robotic Mining Competition to develop an original model for a lunar robot that will mimic mining extraterrestrial simulant on the lunar surface. We have worked hard with the UNH Lunacats Team to develop this Lunabot and have come together to create a remote controlled robot that is capable of driving, mining, and depositing icy regolith simulant.
