Abstract

The NextStep HealthTech mobile applications are designed to help individuals lead healthier lives and promote a greater sense of well-being. The goal of this project was to build off of the existing functionality and develop new features for their application suite. Developed using JavaScript and React Native, these new features include an audio-based content player with animations, as well as a habit tracker. Using modularized system components, we were able to make the audio player customizable and able to be used with dynamic content across multiple features within the app. The features are designed to use fun animations and promote continued use through positive feedback, which is given to the user upon completion of content in the audio player. The user is also able to adjust the controls, which vary depending on the type of content. All the components and their functionality were designed with the intention of providing a user experience suitable to groups of various ages. Ultimately, we believe our work will help the target audience lead healthier lives through an easy-to-use and fun set of features.
