Competition and Border Skirmishes: Sino-Indian Border

Abstract

During the summer of 2020, Chinese and Indian forces clashes in border skirmishes in the Aksai Chin region. This research examines the competition of the Sino-Indian relationship to explore causes of these border skirmishes. A nested security dilemma involving China and India is explored, looking specifically at the web of militarization, economic competition, and alliance making which both have engage in. The central role of Tibet is also studied as a catalyst for Sino-Indian tensions.
