Abstract

The VKT 2438P Series CW Extended Interaction Oscillator (EIO) is a high-power microwave source designed for continuous wave operation in the millimeter-wave frequency range. The VKT 2438P was designed with a center frequency of 140.0 GHz, a mechanical tuning range of ±1.0 GHz, and an electrical tuning range of 200 MHz. Through testing, the output power was 20W, but could achieve an output of approximately 24 W with a cathode voltage of 9600 volts. We plan to utilize this microwave equipment for Dynamic Nuclear Polarization (DNP), a technique that employs microwaves to transfer polarization between electrons and the target sample. I am commissioning the microwave system to operate with a 5T magnetic field, with the sample maintained at 1 K. In the poster, I will outline the design of the microwave setup, which includes the waveguides, the LabVIEW controls I have developed, and the preliminary testing of the system.
