Abstract

The town of Meredith, New Hampshire, is a well-known landmark located in the Lakes Region of Belknap County, known best for its close proximity to Lake Winnipesaukee. This geographical identity makes for an ideal tourist destination, which means that having adequate housing and shelter is a necessity. The purpose of this project is to conduct a hotel development, from an existing two-acre parking lot, at 319 Daniel Webster Highway in Meredith, adjacent to both New Hampshire Route 25, and United States Route 3. The hotel requires there to be 60 keys, with corresponding parking accommodations, and aims to foster a pedestrian-friendly environment. Concentrated effort was dedicated to the site design of the point of interest, to confirm the feasibility of the development, and to optimize the physical aspects of the existing site. Subsequently, analysis relating to structural, geotechnical, architectural, and financial disciplines was performed in accordance with Meredith’s town regulations. The design modifications to the existing site include the structural layout of the hotel building, a 3D rendering of the building, and a footing design, while intending to seamlessly conform to the location, promoting pedestrians to experience the unique landscape of the town.
