Abstract

University of New Hampshire Students for the Exploration and Development of Space (UNH SEDS) researched, designed, and constructed a hybrid rocket with the capabilities to launch as close to 9,500 feet at the FAR-OUT Competition. To validate the rocket’s performance, a static fire test was conducted implementing a newly designed vertical test stand to measure thrust. The integration between the four subsystems: propulsion, frame, avionics, and payload/recovery has led to the cultivation of a successful hybrid rocket.
