Abstract
This project's objective is to address structural deficiencies and poor roadway alignment of bridge No. 121/103 which carries Clothespin Bridge Road over the Blackwater River in the town of Webster, NH. This must be done to remove the bridge from the New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) Municipal Red List. The bridge is a single-lane bridge founded on stone and concrete abutments. Clothespin Bridge Road is identified as a two-lane Class V roadway. Various alternatives for replacing the bridge will be evaluated as part of this project. A hydraulic report will be provided in addition to a Stream stats investigation to aid in the determination of the required bridge dimensions and elevation specifications. Although traffic volumes are low on the roadway, at approximately 550 vehicles per day traffic control during construction will be necessary. For that reason, a detour route will be established. To help ensure the most effective detour route, test runs will be conducted during a planned site visit. Cost estimates for the recommendations will be provided.
