XL-Calibur is an x-ray telescope which aims to collect polarization data from black hole and neutron star systems. Polarization is the amount that the oscillating electric and magnetic fields that make up a light wave are aligned. The polarization is determined by the scattering angles of the photons detected by the telescope. However, the assumptions were initially made that a photon hits the center of the scattering element, and that the photon hits the center of the pixel which detects it. However, all these things are not necessarily true. This project takes into account these factors and creates probability distributions for a photon given a rotation angle and pixel. This allows a more accurate analysis of polarization data, since the results are probability distributions, and not a specific angle.
