Abstract

The Electric Velomobile is an attempt to create a comfortable efficient vehicle that uses 20% of the power of a combustion engine to go the same distance. The vehicle would be compact fitting only two passengers and spanning roughly fourteen feet in length. The charge of the batteries would be able to run for an estimated 400 miles before needed to be charged again overnight. The velomobile is usually a pedal powered trike that can go 25 mph at top speed but with our electric powered motors the trike would be able to go a top speed of 80mph. This modified velomobile allows for long range travel in a compact bike that is sustainable and efficient without causing nearly as much pollution as a combustion engine. The bike itself is sleek and easy to maintain with an aerodynamic shell that allows for high speeds and a top window for 360 viewing. This trike allows you travel farther and faster in a comfortable vehicle that is cheap and easy to maintain compared to current electric vehicle alternatives.
