Abstract
Ocean surface waves are an important part of the interaction between the atmosphere and oceans, impacting weather patterns and climate. There is a need to establish new observational techniques for resolving waves over a wide range of scales. We developed an airborne wave observing system for accomplishing this goal. In this presentation, we demonstrate its capability and discuss how it may aid efforts related to weather and surface wave forecasting.
