Children with visual impairments have their ability to exercise independently limited. Trike for the Visually Impaired provides a solution to this problem. A combination of electrical and mechanical systems allows visually impaired children to ride a tricycle safely and independently. The tricycle combines perimeter detection, motor-powered automatic braking, accelerometer-based fall detection, sonar sensor obstacle avoidance, and audible battery power monitoring systems to replace the role of a support rider in the case of a visually impaired child using the trike.
